Setup CCA Course Catalog
This function allows the Ministry of Education - Department of Co-Curriculum Administrator to setup and create new CCA activities for schools.
Create CCA Course Catalog
Roles Involved: Ministry of Education - Department of Co-Curriculum Administrator
Navigate to Main Menu > Curriculum Management > Course Catalog > Course Catalog.
Click on the Calendar icon of the Effective Date field and specify the Effective Date as 01/01/1901.
Enter the Description and the Long Course Title of the CCA. Both values entered in the Description and Long Course Title must be the same under most cases.
In the Course Grading section, click on the Grading Basis dropdown list and select the value as CCA.
In the Repeat for Credits section, check the Repeat for Credits and Allow Multiple Enroll in Term checkboxes.
Set Total Units Allowed and Total Completions Allowed values as 30 each.
Enter the Course Offering Nbr of the CCA. Course Offering Nbr should match the last 3 digits of the school code. For example, if this CCA is offered to Primary School 1034, the Course Offering Nbr should be 34. If it is offered to Sixth Form 5001, the Course Offering Nbr should be 1.
Enter the Catalog Nbr of the CCA. For example, if the CCA is Drama, enter DRMA as the Catalog Nbr.
In the Look Up Subject Area window, enter CCA in the Academic Organization field.
Specify the Subject Area for the CCA. Subject Area should match the CCA category.
Enter or prompt for the school’s code in the Campus field. If setting up a new CCA, campus should be ‘1001’.
Click on the Academic Organization look-up button and select the Campus code. If setting up a new CCA, campus should be ‘1001’.
Click on the Academic Career look-up button and specify the CCA’s Academic Career.
- CCA1 – Used as Primary Schools’ CCA Academic Career.
- CCA3 – Used as Secondary Schools’ CCA Academic Career.
- CCA5 – Used as Sixth Form Schools’ CCA Academic Career.
Click on the Course Approved dropdown list and select Approved.
To add the remaining schools to this Course Catalog, click on the [+] button and repeat steps 10-21.
- CCA1 – All active Primary Schools.
- CCA3 – All active Secondary Schools.
- CCA5 – All active Sixth Form Schools.
In the Course Component section, specify Class as the Course Component.
In the Course Attendance section, prompt for the Instruction Mode value and select IP.
Click on the Attendance Type dropdown list and select Class Meeting.
Note: The Catalog Nbr must not be the same as the existing Catalog Nbr for other CCA in iNEIS. The field can only have a maximum of four characters.
Note: The Academic Careers for CCA are as follows:Each course should contain one activity under one career. If an activity is offered to primary schools, secondary schools and sixth forms, there should be 3 courses set up for each Academic Career.
Note: If the Academic Career is changed after selecting Approved in the Course Approved dropdown list, the value selected before for the Course Approved dropdown list will be reverted back to Pending.
Note: It is important to assign all schools in the CCA career to the newly created CCA course catalog.
Note: If setting up a new activity, please set up for offering number ‘1’ only. After setup, please contact MOE Helpdesk to apply this activity to other schools.
Verify CCA Course Catalog

Navigate to Main Menu > Curriculum Management > Course Catalog > Course Catalog.
In the Find an Existing Value tab, enter the values in the Academic Institution, Subject Area and Campus fields.
Click on the Search button to obtain the search results based on the values you entered.
Click on one of the CCA course in the search results to verify.
Update CCA Course Catalog

Navigate to Main Menu > Curriculum Management > Course Catalog > Course Catalog.
In the Find an Existing Value tab, enter the values in the Academic Institution, Subject Area and Campus fields.
Click on the Search button to obtain the search results based on the values you entered.
Click on the Calendar icon of the Effective Date field and specify the Effective Date.
Make the changes to the respective highlighted fields if there are any required.

Note: The Effective Date must not be the same as the previous Effective Date. By default, it is set as today’s date. Entries set up in past Effective Date cannot be modified. Therefore it is recommended to set the Effective Date before the term start date, to leave space for further updates. For example, it is recommended to set Effective Date as 01/01/2015 if the activity is used from Term 1510, to in case of further updates before 05/01/2015, the actual term start date.
Note: Grading Basis must be set as CCA.
