Maintain Translate Value for Progression Requirement

This function allows the users to setup and update the translate values in Manage Progression Requirement page for the following:

• Progression Criteria
• Progression Type

• Add Translate Value
• Update Translate Value
• Set Translate Value as Inactive

Roles Involved: MOE DS Manage Student Progression

Add Translate Value

1. Navigate to Main Menu > PeopleTools > Utilities > Administration > Translate Values.

2. User will be directed to the Maintain Translate Values search page.

3. Enter the Field Name.

Note: There are 2 values that can be maintained on Manage Progression Requirement page:

• Progression Criteria, enter Field Name as MOE_PR_CRITERIA.
• Progression Type, enter Field Name as MOE_PR_TYPE.

4. Click on the Search button.

5. User will be directed to the Maintain Translate Values page.

6. Click on the “+” button to add more values.

7. A pop-up box will appear for the user to enter the number of rows the user wishes to add.

8. Click on the OK button.

9. Enter the Value.

Note:

• Ensure Value are unique. If value are the same but with different effective date then it is considered an update of translate value.
• Ensure number of characters in Value follows the number of characters as the other Value. For e.g. if the other values are 4 characters then the new value should have 4 characters.

10. Enter the Effective Date as 01/01/1901.

Note: Effective date for new Translate Values should be entered default as 01/01/1901.

11. Enter the Long Name for the new value.

12. Enter the Short Name for the new value.

13. Click on the Save button.

Update Translate Value

1. Navigate to Main Menu > PeopleTools > Utilities > Administration > Translate Values.

2. User will be directed to the Maintain Translate Values search page.

3. Enter the Field Name.

Note: There are 2 values that can be maintained on Manage Progression Requirement page:

• Progression Criteria, enter Field Name as MOE_PR_CRITERIA.
• Progression Type, enter Field Name as MOE_PR_TYPE.

4. Click on the Search button.

5. User will be directed to the Maintain Translate Values page.

6. Click on the “+” button to add more values.

7. A pop-up box will appear for the user to enter the number of rows the user wishes to add.

8. Click on the OK button.

9. Enter the same Value to be updated.

Note: If Value is the same but with different effective date then it is considered an update of translate value.

10. Enter the Effective Date for the updated translate value to take effect.

11. Ensure the Status is Active.

12. Enter the Long Name for the updated value.

13. Enter the Short Name for the updated value.

14. Click on the Save button.

Set Translate Value as Inactive

1. Navigate to Main Menu > PeopleTools > Utilities > Administration > Translate Values.

2. User will be directed to the Maintain Translate Values search page.

3. Enter the Field Name.

Note: There are 2 values that can be maintained on Manage Progression Requirement page:

• Progression Criteria, enter Field Name as MOE_PR_CRITERIA.
• Progression Type, enter Field Name as MOE_PR_TYPE.

4. Click on the Search button.

5. User will be directed to the Maintain Translate Values page.

6. Click on the “+” button to add more values.

7. A pop-up box will appear for the user to enter the number of rows the user wishes to add.

8. Click on the OK button.

9. Enter the same Value to be removed.

10. Enter the Effective Date as of the date to be deactivated.

11. To deactivate an existing value, click on the drop down button and set Status as Inactive.

12. Enter the same Long Name & Short Name to be deactivated.

Note: On this Maintain Translate Values page, users can either Add or Update any existing Translate Values for the specified fields.

Also, do not click on the “-“ button to delete the existing values as some data might be lost which can cause data integrity issues.

13. Click on the Save button.
